Error description

  • TRACE MONITOR 01 STARTING FAILURE

When an online session is started (even without historical),
OM/DB2 will issue a -START TRACE(MON) IFCID(318) command.
This is needed for the IFI interface which the online session
uses to obtain DB2 information using the DB2 READS IFI
interface.  The trace is not re-started because of the invalid
"-   -STA" command.  Instead "O21901E - IFI MONITOR TRACE IS NO
LONGER ACTIVE" will be displayed in the Classic STC task.

The problem is in ASM(CIFI) code where a properly formatted
START TRACE command is passed to another routine which then adds
another command character to the command before issuing the
command.

Local fix

  • Manually start it.
