  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR includes following problems:  *

  *                      - HPIC V4R1 Image Copy function         *
  *                        terminates with ABEND U001            *
  *                        ( ABENDU001 ), when the input OSAM    *
  *                        database data set is empty and HPIO=Y *
  *                        is specified in the ICEIN control     *
  *                        statement.                            *
  *                                                              *
  *                      - When the input VSAM database data set *
  *                        that is not formatted is empty and    *
  *                        FASTIS=(,DUMP) or FASTIC=(,COPY) is   *
  *                        specified in the ICEIN control        *
  *                        statement, HPIC V4R1 Image Copy       *
  *                        function terminates with RC=00        *
  *                        although the image copy process must  *
  *                        be terminated with RC=08 in this      *
  *                        case.                                 *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  This APAR includes following problems:
  
  - HPIC V4R1 Image Copy function terminates with ABEND U001
    ( ABENDU001 ), when the input OSAM database data set is empty
    and HPIO=Y is specified in the ICEIN control statement.
    Under the above condition, unnecessary logic is called and it
    has a problem then U001 abend occurred.
  
  - When the input VSAM database data set that is not formatted is
    empty and FASTIS=(,DUMP) or FASTIC=(,COPY) is specified in the
    ICEIN control statement, HPIC V4R1 Image Copy function
    terminates with RC=00 although the image copy process must be
    terminated with RC=08 in this case.
  

Problem conclusion

• FABJDOPN has been modified to check whether the input OSAM
  database data set is empty or not.
  
  FABJDPSN has been modified to bypass the GET process if the
  input OSAM database data set is empty.
  
  FABJBLKD and FABJFCBK have been modified to add new areas for
  checking an empty database data set.
  
  FABJDFCN has been modified to check whether the input Full
  Function VSAM database data set is empty or not and to bypass
  creating the image copy data sets. If the input DB is empty and
  is not the PSINDEX, HPIC terminates with RC=08 and open error.
  
  FABJFCDN has been modified to bypass the error check of the
  input OSAM database data set and continue the copy process.
  
  - The following modules have been reassembled.
