Error description

  • DB repair facility appears to have a problem with databases
randomized by DFSHDC10. I get message FABZ028E: "RBA beyond
extents (RBA=FFFFFC00). For VSAM, ensure that the RBA entered is
    an even value"
For a key known to be in the database. I can successfully find
the segment by RBA, which is what leads me to suspect that the
problem is something to do with the randomizer.
If I recreate the database using randomiser DFSHDC40, DB repair
can find the segment by key.

FABZRAND did not have sufficient working storage to
    perform correct randomizing assignments.

Problem conclusion

  • More working storage was added to FABZRAND so that the block
number returned to it's caller contained the correct value.
