Error description

  • The HASH Checking runs in HP Image Copy and the number of data
base data sets is greater than 408 - thus, HD Pointer Checker
fails with a S0C4 abend in FABPHEXM.

    ****************************************************************
    HPIC V3R2 terminates with ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) in the module
FABPHEXM, when the number of processed database data set exceeds
408 and the Hash Check is requested.
Because the field length of HPIC control block that is pass to
HPPC is defined as an half word, and it overflows when the
number of processed DBDS is more than 408.

Problem conclusion

  • HPIC with Hash Check supports maximum 999 of processed DBDS.
Supported maximum number of task in parallel is 254, when the
    HASH check is not requested.
Supported maximum number of task in parallel is 99, when the
    HASH check is requested.

The module FABJMAIN has been modified to set 1 entry length of
HPIC control block into the field.

The module FABJINT1 has been modified to set 1 entry length of
HPIC control block into the field.

The macro FABJDMPN has been modified to pass 1 entry length of
HPIC control block into the field.

The macro FABUITCT has been modified to define 1 entry length of
HPIC control block into the field.
