    + NOTE -------------------------------------------------------+
    | This new function is only available for IMS Database |
    | Recovery Facility (DRF) Version 3 Release 1. |
    +-------------------------------------------------------------+
By applying this APAR, the single step DEDB hash pointer
checking function can be invoked under DRF. Use the DRF ADD
control statement PC keyword to show that the single step
DEDB hash pointer checking function is required.

The IMS High Performance Fast Path Utilities for z/OS User's
Guide Volume 2: Fast Path Basic Tools Version 2 Release 1
(SC18-9238-00) should be changed as follows:

    Add the following new Appendix

    --------------------------------------------------------------
Appendix x. Tailoring DEDB Pointer Checker for IMS Database
    Recovering Facility

IMS Database Recovering Facility (DRF) Version 3 Release 1 can
call the DEDB Pointer Checker Hash checking function.
It is called the single step Hash checking function,
because the hash checking is invoked within the DRF job step.

    --------------------------------------------------------------
    X.1 Address space JCL
    --------------------------------------------------------------
For primary address space JCL and subordinate address space
JCL, see Chapter 3 in "IMS Database Recovery Facility for z/OS
    User's Guide and Reference (SC18940700)"

    --------------------------------------------------------------
X.2 DD Statements of DEDB Hash Checking for DRF
    --------------------------------------------------------------
Specify the following output data sets in the primary address
space JCL. These values will be overwritten by the user JCL.

    FABARPRT DD
This statement defines the output data set for the pointer
chain reconstruction report of the DEDB Pointer Checker.
    FABAMSG DD
This statement defines the output data set that contains
messages produced by the DEDB Pointer Checker.
    FABASNAP DD
This statement defines the output data set for the DEDB CI
map or the CI dump report.

    Appendixes. Messages and codes:
The following message descriptions should be changed:

Explanation: This is an informational message to let you know
that CI map/CI dump for CI xxxxxxxx is generated in a data set
specified with the SNAPDPIT DD statement. A dump number nnn is
    assigned.
    After:
Explanation: This is an informational message to let you know
that the CI map or the CI dump for CI xxxxxxxx is generated in
a data set that is specified with the SNAPDPIT DD statement for
