Error description

  • When using the SPOOLCLOSE function specifying a null token, an
abend 0C4 occurrs in DFHPSPC. The program check is occurring
around x'4AE' on a LOAD ADDRESS instruction: 4880 7010 due to
the value in Reg7 being blanks and not accessible. Reg7 is
loaded from Reg9+DC with the BLKPTR which is bad. CICS is in
the process of doing a SPOOLCLOSE_REPORT and in the middle of
    tryingt o write a E3BA trace entry.

    ****************************************************************
If a SPOOLCLOSE command does not specify a valid TOKEN
abendS0C4 can result when trying to produce trace entry
E3BA on exit from module DFHPSPC.
The Report Controller Trace Entries manual does not correctly
describe DATA3 for E3BA. DATA3 should be the contents of the
control block for the report, addressed using part of the TOKEN
    field.
If the TOKEN supplied on the SPOOLCLOSE command, for a
non-continuous report, is invalid, the associated control block
cannot be accessed and an 0C4 abend will result from an attempt
to produce DATA3 for the trace entry.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPSPC has been altered to bypass producing DATA3 for trace
entry E3BA, for a non-continuous report, should the data not
be addressable due to an invalid TOKEN being supplied.
The CICS Transaction Server for VSE/ESA Trace Entries,
    Release 1, SX33-6108-05, section 1.1.2.30, Report Controller
trace points, will be altered for trace point E3BA as follows:

Point ID Module Lvl Type Data
AP E3BA DFHPSPC RC Exit 1 Register 15
                         1 2 Register 0
                                          3 Contents of control
                                            block in PSSID
