PK10609: ABEND0C4 OR ABEND50D OCCURS WHEN EXITING THE QCF ISPF PANELS AND DIAGNOSTIC TEST TOOL IGVINITGETMAIN IS ENABLED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ABENDS0C4 or ABENDS50D occurs when exiting the QCF ISPF panels
  and diagnostic test tool IGVINITGETMAIN is enabled.
  Error PSW points within IGC0002 and routine last in control(R12)
  was IQCY0000.
  

Local fix

• Run without IGVINITGETMAIN enabled.
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of QCF panels should install the   *
  *                 APAR in order to prevent 0C4 in some cases.  *
  *                 The 0C4 happens only if the MVS does not set *
  *                 the obtained storage to X'00'and QCF panels  *
  *                 are entered and exited without some other    *
  *                 activity.                                    *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND 0C4 OR ABEND 50D OCCURS WHEN      *
  *                      EXITING THE QCF ISPF PANELS AND THE     *
  *                      OBTAINED STORAGE IS NOT INITIALIZED TO  *
  *                      X'00'.                                  *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  Preset all obtained storage to X'00' to avoid 0C4  when trying
  to close a DCB that is not used in the run and the storage for
  the DCB is not initialized.
  

Problem conclusion

• All obtained storage is initialized to X'00'.
  The problem is fixed.
