Error description

  • In DB2 Administration Tool, using CC ( Copy Catalog ) function
in DB2 v8 CM (Compatibility Mode) results in SQLCODE614 from
CREATE INDEX DSNDUX01 on table IPLIST . Index key length exceeds
255 maximum length allowed in DB2 v8 CM.

Local fix

  • Remove the DDL for the CREATE UNIQUE INDEX aaaaaa.DSNDUX01 from
the SYSIN dataset referenced in step CRTIX6 in the JCL in member
DDLBND00 .

Problem conclusion

  • The index cannot be created until DB2 V8 is in New Function
Mode. The CREATE INDEX DDL must be removed from the DDL file
built by the Catalog Copy job.
