Error description

• DB2 Administration Tool SQ command for packages can result in
  error message: Syntax error 40 in panel ADB21KSQ .
  .
  Error occurs on packages which were bound under prior DB2
  version, and migrated up to DB2 v8 NFM. Packages with STMT
  column length 254 in SYSIBM.SYSPACKSTMT are still in prior DB2
  version format: VARCHAR(254) .

  Packages bound under DB2 v8 NFM use STMT column length
  VARCHAR(3500) and are processed successfully by SQ command.

Problem conclusion

• The length of the text of a statement is logically limited to
  254 bytes even though the catalog row is a VARCHAR(3800).
  Code was attempting to determine the length based solely on
  the length of the catalog row and the DB2 release indicator.
