Error description

  • Using DB2 Object Compare Tool to remove CLUSTER attribute from
    an INDEX can result in sqlcode104 ( -104 ).
    .
    Generated ALTER INDEX for smart alter contains CLUSTER NO when
    NOT CLUSTER is correct syntax. Generated statement appears like
      alter index "$DB7SA"."DBXIDX01" CLUSTER NO;
    Error messages appear similar to the following:
    DSNT408I SQLCODE = -104, ERROR: ILLEGAL SYMBOL
    "<END-OF-STATEMENT>".
    SOME SYMBOLS THAT MIGHT BE LEGAL ARE: <INTEGER> <IDENTIFIER>
    .
    Additional symptoms: clustering

Local fix

  • Edit job before execution, to use correct syntax, like:
      ALTER INDEX "$DB7SA"."DBXIDX01" NOT CLUSTER;
    .
    Use NOT CLUSTER instead of CLUSTER NO
