Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS * * Version 3 Release 1 users ( FMID=H1J0310 ) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR includes following APARs of * * HPIC V3R2: * * PQ96334, PK04293, PK04770, PK05607, * * PK06517, PK04224 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR includes following APAR fixes from HPIC V3R2: -The part of PQ96334 HPIC Recovery Function of the Fast Path database registers the recovery runtime to RECON even if LOGUSE=N is specified in the ICEIN. -PK04293 HPIC gets ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) when DD for output image copy data set that uses STACK function is specified on JCL. Because HPIC stacking function does not use LOCEPAX=YES option of IEFZB505 macro that define EPA parameter area for issuing SWAREQ macro with Read Locate mode. As the result of that garbage is set in SWQMPA (SWA control blocks) and SWAREQ process fails. -PK04770 HPIC Image Copy Function abends U3801 ( ABENDU3801 ), when the input database is not registered to the DBRC. When the dynamic allocation from MDA lib for the full function database and its DBDS record of DBRC is not found, the HPIC terminates with U3801 ( ABENDU3801 ). -PK05607 HPIC V3R1 image copy function terminates with ABEND S0C1 ( ABEND0C1 ) in the process for a primary index DB or a secondary index DB that is not formatted, when HDPC=O or both of HDPC=Y and VIC=Y keywords are specified in the ICEIN. HPIC tries to continue processing even though it fails in the OPEN process for unformatted DB. As a result, HPIC terminates with ABEND S0C1 ( ABEND0C1 ) in the GET process after the OPEN process. -PK06517 1. NOTIFY.UIC for VIC function fails with message FABJ0177E ( MSGFABJ0177E ) when using IMS Loss Notification. Because DBRC NOTIFY.UIC command is failed due to SCI registration fail. 2. STOPTIME and USID are not set in Image Copy Creation Report (ICERPRT) when using IMS Loss Notification. Because DBRC LIST.HISTORY command for getting DBRC IC record information is failed due to SCI registration fail -PK04224 HPIC V3R1 image copy function uses invalid Image Copy data set information for stacking data set, then the messages IEC145I ( S413-1C ) and IGF0193A are issued. Because the HPIC internal control block are not protected and it is damaged by IMS modules. By this APAR, HPIC uses different SUBPOOL number from IMS for GETMAIN area for protecting internal control block.
Problem conclusion
FABJRDB7,FABJRDB8, and FABJRDB9 have been modified to bypass the logic that registers the recovery runtime to RECON. FABJICDD and FABJMDPN have been modified that: - LOCEPAX=YES option of IEFZB505 macro is defined. - Parameter area of SWAREQ is cleared with correct parameter length. FABJMAIN has been modified following things: - to bypass the error process even if Full Function DB is not registered to DBRC. - to use specific SUBPOOL No that is not used by IMS in GETMAIN and FREEMAIN, that is for protecting HPIC control block. FABJDPSN has been modified following things: - to bypass the process of reading a primary index DB or a secondary index DB that is not formatted and to issue the message DFS301A to report an error when HDPC=O or both of HDPC=Y and VIC=Y keywords are specified in the ICEIN. A new module FABJATRC that calls DSPURXRT for DBRC command is provided. HPIC attaches the module that calls DSPURXRT in different task TCB from IMS ULU region TCB. FABJDMPN has been modified following things: - to attach and detach the new module FABJATRC. - to change the timing of reporting build logic for the create Image Copy Data Set report. - to use specific SUBPOOL No that is not used by IMS in GETMAIN and FREEMAIN, that is for protecting HPIC control block. FABJCRC0 has been modified to attach and detach the new module. FABJRPT0 has been modified to pass new parameters for the new module to FABJDBCM. FABJDBCM has been modified to pass new parameters for the new module to FABJDBC1. FABJDBC1 has been modified to post a new task for issuing DBRC command. FABJUIC1 has been modified to post a new task for issuing DBRC command. FABJMSGC has been modified to add two message code. The following modules have been modified to use specific SUBPOOL number that is not used by IMS in GETMAIN and FREEMAIN, that is for protecting HPIC control block: - FABJDBDN MAC - FABJDBRC MAC - FABJPARM MOD The following modules have been reassembled. FABJDMP7 FABJDMP8 FABJDMP9 FABJDPS7 FABJDPS8 FABJDPS9 FABJMDP7 FABJMDP8 FABJMDP9 FABJDBD7 FABJDBD8 FABJDBD9 FABJDBR7 FABJDBR8 FABJDBR9 ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS Version 3 Release 1 User's Guide SC18-7617-00 ( SC18761700 ) should be changed as follows: -------------------------------------------------------------- A.0Appendix A.
