    ****************************************************************
HD Pointer Checker calls a sort (DFSORT or a functionally
    equivalent product) program internally.
The records to be sorted are passed to E15 exit routine.
In the condition, DFSORT does not estimate the size of work
data set and it uses the default size.
When the number of segment occurrences processed by HD Pointer
Checker is large, the sort work data set size could be grater
    than the default size.
It causes the SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED.

Problem conclusion

  • The following modules and macros have been changed to
estimate the number of sort records approximately,
and the number is specified to FILSZ= option in
    the sort parameter internally.
By this change, the sort program can estimate the sort work
data set size based of the value in the FILSZ option,
and allocates the sort work data set dynamically.
