APAR status

Error description

  • DB2 Administration Tool generates invalid object definition
when the definition contains the " generated always " clause.
This happens when the REMOVE defaults panel option is in
effect via GEN.

Local fix

  • Use the KEEP defaults option on GEN panel.

*                 run GEN to produce DDL for tables with       *
*                 ROWID columns, are affected.                 *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When the user requests that defaults be *
*                      removed, the GENERATED ALWAYS clause is *
*                      wrongly removed from the description of *
*                      ROWID columns for DB2 versions 7 and    *
*                      earlier.                                *

Problem conclusion

  • The ADB2REG module has been changed so that this default is
not removed unless it is DB2 V8 or later.
