Error description

• DB2 Administration Tool failures during GEN and CLONE functions
  with u4038 / u4039 storage failures when customer is running
  below the line via LE defaults.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Users who have modifed LE runtime       *
  *                      defaults and moved either stacked or    *
  *                      heap storage below the line can see :   *
  *                      .* Abend U4088 with reason code 3E3.    *
  *                      .* U4038 / U4039 during GEN and CLONE   *
  *                      .* Other unpredictable failures (like   *
  *                         Abends 0C4 and 0C1 .. etc.)          *

  Out of storage condiftion is encountered when stacked or heap
  storage is below the line.
  

Problem conclusion

• ADB2UOPT now sets ALL31=ON, STACK=(,,ANY),HEAP(,,ANY), overiding
  possible installation defaults where one or more of these were
  specified to be below the line. In addition, STORAGE=(,,,32K)
  has been specified to allow out of storage conditions to be
  handled better (other than 4088-3E3 abends).
