APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Prevent active GDG generations beyond the archive retention
period from being physically deleted. The IMS Connect
Extensions (CEX) Archive Cleanup utility was ignoring the
limits on the GDG base and deleting all but the latest
generation.

Problem conclusion


    

  • Correct logic to permit archive cleanup to work properly.
If a GDG file is cataloged it will no longer be deleted
by the archive cleanup utility.
