APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • QM requires the existence of CCSID conversion pairs for 500-1208
and 1208-500. If these pairs are **NOT** defined on the LPAR
whereon the QM data collector is running, QM will indeed
function- but unpredictable display problems can occur as a
result. Code will be added to verify that these specific CCSID
pairs exist- and if not, startup will terminate with appropriate
messaging instructing the user to add these necessary CCSID
    pairs and restart QM.

OTHER SYMPTOM: program names are garbled on QM screens.

Local fix

  • Add CCSID pairs 500,1208 and 1208,500 to the UNICODE image on
    the LPAR running QM.

Use the SET UNI command to make the change dynamically.
