Error description

  • In z/OS 1.6 with IMS 9.1 environment, a SDOGEN job using HLASM
    fails with RC=08, becuase IMS 9.1 macro IAPS contains mixed case
    character's instructions and the HLASM installation default
    options has a COMPAT(CASE,SYSLIST).
    Following messages are issued.
      FABO0104I PROCESS FOR AREA=TICD100 STARTED
      FABO0116A LOGIC ERROR FOUND IN SRG
      FABO0103I UNSUCCESSFULL END OF SRG PROCESS
      RETURN CODE 008

    An SRG job ends with a return code of 8 (RC08) in IMS V8 or V9
    environment if the installation default options for High Level
    Assembler include the option COMPAT(CASE). Following messages
    are issued and the SRG job ends with a return code of 8:
    - FABO0116A LOGIC ERROR FOUND IN SRG
    - FABO0103I UNSUCCESSFUL END OF SRG PROCESS
    If a non-dummy SYSDUMY DD statement is coded, you will see the
    following HLASM messages in the SYSDUMY data set:
    - In IMS V8 environment:
      - ASMA057E Undefined operation code - DBFEP/EQu
      - ASMA435I Record 255 in xxxxxxxxx(DBFEPST) on volume: xxxxxx
      - Statements Flagged
           xxxx(L2:DBFEPST,255)
    - In IMS V9 environment:
      - Statements Flagged
           xxxxx(L2:IAPS,65)
    

Problem conclusion

  • The module FABOMAIN has been modified so that the assembler
    option COMPAT(NOCASE) will be set each time the assembler
    program is invoked within SRG.
