APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IIUB040E-Reason 790 (for HALDB) or 732 (for non-HALDB) when DATA
  component of secondary index VSAM dataset name is 41 characters.
  

Local fix

• Temporary workaround is to shorten Data component of VSAM
  dataset name to 40 characters.
  

Problem summary

  IMS Index Builder V2R3, when shadowing the DSN, uses last blank
  as token, thus reducing the effective data length to 40 instead
  of 41. Since 44 bytes are allocated to each name component, for
  longer names the shadowing fails.
  

Problem conclusion

• No last byte token is being used in shadowing any more, just
  length.
