Error description

  • The fix for APAR PQ84712 solves a problem that sometimes arises
when there is not enough storage below the 16 MB line by
acquiring BLDCHAIN control block storage above the line. This
means LIU runs in AMODE 31 with APAR PQ84712 applied. If Neon
PDB is installed the DFSUAMB0 does not run in AMODE 31 and the
result is an 0C4 abend.

*                      DFSUAMB0 if NEON PDB is installed and   *
*                      APAR PQ84712 is applied to LIU.         *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
****************************************************************
After applying APAR PQ84712, the BLDCHAIN control block is
obtained above 16MB and the IMS DFSUAMB0 module is called
in AMODE=31.

If NEON PDB is installed, however, DFSUAMB0 is called
in AMODE=24. When DFSUAMB0 attempts referring PST
in BLDCHAIN, ABENDS0C4 RC04 or RC11 occurs.

Problem conclusion

  • The FABQMAIN module has been modified as to obtain the BLDCHAIN
control block below 16MB only if the NEON IPFDLB00 module
can be loaded.
