Error description

• Cognos Analytics 11.0.11 is being installed on SLES 12 SP3.  A
  volume with sufficient free space is mounted at /opt, and in the
  installer you specify a path under /opt like
  /opt/ibm/cognos/analytics-app1 The root volume has <3.5GB of
  space.  When the installer reaches the summary screen, it shows
  the available space as the amount in the root volume rather than
  the /opt volume.  If you attempt to install, you receive an
  error:
  
  This installation requires 3,696.26 MB of free disk space, but
  there are only 3,202.74MB available at
  /opt/ibm/cognos/analytics-app1
  

Local fix

• Free up >3.5GB on the root partition
