Error description

  • When a user processes changes to a sequence that include
precision (for example, from Decimal(9) to Decimal(5), CM Batch
and Compare overlook this change, and generate only an ALTER
statement (for the other changes), not a DROP/CREATE of the
sequence. When a package containing the sequence is executed,
    the result can be a SQLCODE = -846 / SQLCODEN846 error:
DSNT408I SQLCODE = -846, ERROR: INVALID SPECIFICATION OF AN
IDENTITY COLUMN OR SEQUENCE OBJECT SEQUENCE
    >sequence_name<.
    REASON CODE = 2
    DSNT418I SQLSTATE = 42815 SQLSTATE RETURN CODE

    ****************************************************************
When processing changes for a sequence with a built-in
datatype, CM Batch and Object Compare may not detect a
change in precision. As a result only a only an ALTER
statement (for the other changes), and not a DROP/CREATE
of the sequence, may be generated. When the package
containing the sequence is executed, the result may be
    SQLCODE=-846 / SQLCODEN846:

    DSNT408I SQLCODE = -846,
ERROR: INVALID SPECIFICATION OF AN IDENTITY
    COLUMN OR SEQUENCE OBJECT SEQUENCE
    schema.sequencename
    REASON CODE = 2
    DSNT418I SQLSTATE = 42815 SQLSTATE RETURN CODE
