PI99140: ABENDU0729 DFSSPM00 ATTEMPTING TO FREE THE LUMP OTMA MESSAGE PREFIX SEGMENT BUT WE USE THE ECSA OTMA MESSAGE PREFIX SEGMENT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• DFSFXC40 REL62P is being called at label CLR1A and passing
  TPPCB62P. This msg prefix is from ECSA and not LUMP, so flag
  LUP_MSG_NOT_FREE should be set to tell DFSYLUS0 PreRelService
  not to release it. However, in the customers case,
  LUP_MSG_NOT_FREE is not set, so we attempt to release the
  prefix, resulting in the U0729 abend.

  DFSYLUS0 PreRel_Service is called during syncpoint to release an
  OTMA message prefix from LUMP pool. However, the prefix is from
  ECSA and not LUMP, so flag LUP_MSG_NOT_FREE should be set to
  tell DFSYLUS0 not to release it. In the error case,
  LUP_MSG_NOT_FREE is not set, so it attempts to release the
  prefix, resulting in the U0729 abend.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFSYLUS0 was modified to check the message prefix being release,
  and if it's in ECSA, then bypass the release.
