Error description

  • This APAR addresses 3 issues related to statements generated
    processing an alter to a DB2 table added to accelerator setup:

    1. Change management detects a change in a DB2 table (enabled
    for replication (CDC)), and generates ADMIN ACCELERATOR
    RECREATE, LOAD, ENABLE ACCELERATION and ENABLE REPLICATION, but
    in incorrect order. This results in the accelerated table
    being left in incorrect status (Acceleration =disabled, Initial
    Load pending, Replication= Unavailable).
    2. CM Batch also generates ADMIN ACCELERATOR ENABLE
    REPLICATION statements for tables not enabled for replication
    (CDC).
    3. Object compare processing involving an accelerated table
    does not generate statements to enable acceleration and
    replication.

    * started for acceleration and *
    * replication does not generate *
    * statements for the same. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    1. An Alter table (ALT) operation on an accelerator shadow
    table that is enabled for replication may result in the shadow
    table being left in below incorrect statuses (assuming that the
    corresponding global change parameters are enabled on panel
    ADB2PCO "Options for Change Functions"):

    Incorrect result:
    Acceleration=disabled, Load=Initial Load pending,
    Replication=Unavailable

    Correct result:
    Acceleration=enabled, Load=Replication In Progress,
    Replication=enabled

    2. An ALT operation does not detect and preserve the correct
    replication status of an accelerator shadow table. This APAR
    will now preserve replication information (before recreate),
    and enable replication only for tables that were previously
    enabled. A warning will be issued if there are tables in the
    list that are not eligible for replication.

    Panel ADBPZAK 'Accelerated Table - Keys' will also now
    display the below additional status fields:

    Acceleration status, Load status, Replication status and
    Replication Details.

    3. A Compare process (DDL vs Catalog) against an accelerator
    shadow table started for acceleration and replication does not
    generate statements for the same.
