A CICS transaction is purged while in VSAM WAIT_MVS.
The transaction enters HANDLE ABEND processing which issues
    EXEC CICS SYNCPOINT.
DFHFCVR puts the address of the the task's File Control SET
storage (which is task-level storage) into a File Control
FC_BUFFER_BASE FCPH_CHAIN element (which is a chain of shared
    region-level storage).
Later, another transaction takes the address from the
    FC_BUFFER_BASE FCPH_CHAIN and suffers an 0C4 abend.
Additional Keywords: DFHFC0001 FC0001 FCSS SET
                         FCB_256 FCB_512 FCB_1K FCB_2K
                         FCB_4K FCB_8K FCB_16K FCB_32K
                         FCB_64K FCB_128 FCB_256 FCB_512
                         FCB_1M FCB_2M FCB_4M FCB_8M FCB_16M

Problem conclusion

  • DFHFCFR has been changed to prevent it from putting task-level
    storage onto the region-level chain.
