Error description

  • The CPSM Monitor Interval for a CICSPlex is defined in the
    CPLEXDEF record for the whole CICSPlex, or in the CSYSDEF for
    the individual region. It is also specified for the individual
    CMAS when its EYUDREP file is defined, and can be specified in
    a PERIODEF. At the region level, it inherits the interval from
    the CICSPlex.
    .
    In this scenario, the CMAS is defined to run GMT+8, the local
    LPAR is GMT+8, and the Plex is defined as:
      Monitor Interval:     1440
      Daylight saving time: No
      Timezone:             I
      Timezone offset:      0
    .
    However, the EYUMM0400I / EYUMM0401I messages to indicate a
    'Monitor resource reset' has occurred are issued unexpectedly.
    .
      EYUMM0400I I date time applid Monitor resource reset in
      progress for Context(context) Scope(scope).
      .
      EYUMM0401I I date time applid Monitor resource reset
      complete for Context(context) Scope(scope).
    .
    The problem is that CWPR_TIME_ZONE, CWPR_TIME_ZONE_OFFSET, and
    CWPR_DAY_LIGHT_SAVINGS did not pass the correct value from CWIN.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CPSM resets the monitor data to zeros *
    * periodically based on the value of *
    *                      monitor interval(INTVL) when the        *
    * CPLEXDEF record is created. The default *
    *                      monitor interval is 480 minutes.        *
    *                                                              *
    * If the monitor interval is set to 1440, *
    * the monitor data is reset every 24 *
    * hours, around 00:00:00 of the local *
    * time. However, in some cases, the reset *
    * might occur at 00:00:00 UTC time. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all CMASes must be restarted. Note *
    * that the restarts do not need to occur at *
    *                 the same time.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    Method CWPR (CMAS Timing Services Plex Interval Reg)
    calculates the reset time after the next interval expires
    based on the time zone of the current CICSplex. It first
    gets the UTC time and then calculates the local time based on
    the time zone in the CICSplex. However, method CWPR does not
    get the correct time zone set in the CICSplex resulting in an
    error in calculating the local time using UTC time.

Problem conclusion

  • The method CPBP(BUILD QUE OF ALL CMASPLEX) has been updated so
    that the method CWPR obtains the correct time zone setting.
