Error description

  • When processing a change involving an ALTER TABLE ADD FOREIGN
    KEY for a self-referential constraint, with Delete rule 'NO
    ACTION', Admin Tool Change Management or Object Comparison Tool
    generates rebind statements for all packages relating to the
    table, even though these packages are not invalidated by the
    change.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When processing a self-referential ALTER ADD FOREIGN
    KEY statement on a table, with Delete rule specified as
    'NO ACTION', CM Batch or Object Compare may generate
    REBIND statements for all packages that depend on the table.
    However, adding a constraint (self-referential or not)
    with Delete rule 'NO ACTION' (or 'RESTRICT', for that
    matter) does not invalidate a dependent package. There
    is no need, therefore, for these REBIND statements to be
    generated.
