PI98522: HIGH CPU AND/OR HANGS OBSERVED IN DB2 WORKLOADS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• High CPU consumption (either zIIP or CP) may be observed which
  is identified as a loop in DB2 Data Access Common Collector
  for z/OS (CQC) module CQCISMPX from offsets +94FC to +950A.
  This is the same loop range that is described by PI96298, but
  this new APAR resolves a secondary logic error which contributes
  to the loop within CQCISMPX.
  

Local fix

• Stopping STAP will provide immediate relief of the looping
  condition and will allow DB2 threads to resume normal operation.
