PI98106: DB2 ADMIN TOOL - WORK STATEMENT LIST FAILED IN RESTART AFTER CHECK PENDING SQLCODE 162 AND THEN A NEGATIVE SQLCODE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A work statement list failed because of a SQLCode -538. Prior
  to this negative SQLCode was a Check Pending, SQLCode 162 is
  received in the same commit scope , The WSL was restarted
  and it then failed with -601. A review of the work statement
  list shows no commits after '#RESTART xx', but a untracked
  implicit commit was done cauing the restart error.

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  When Check Pending, SQLCODE 162 is encountered,
  ADBTEP2 tries to insert the tablespace information to
  ADBCHK table with COMMIT which causes untracked
  implicit commit. Because of the untracked COMMIT,
  restarting of the WSL fails by executing the same
  committed statement from the previous run.
