Error description

Some error scenarios in OAuth and OpenID Connect that
produce 404 or 500 HTTP error responses will include
WebSphere Liberty server error messages in the web page that
is displayed to the end user. Specifically, WebSphere
Liberty server error messages with IDs CWOAU0039W,
CWWKS1413E, or CWWKS1620E might be displayed in a web
browser to an end user in certain error conditions. These
server error messages might disclose sensitive information
that could be used to launch further attacks against the web
application.

Problem conclusion

OAuth and OpenID Connect error cases that produce 404 or 500
HTTP error codes will now return a standard error page with a
generic message to an end user that says an error occurred
during authentication. The existing WebSphere Liberty server
error messages will still be logged in the server logs.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 18.0.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
