APAR status

Error description

• When the target side of a subscription is failing, a timing
  condition can occur that permits the TDT task to receive an
  InitTerm:DETACHed inter-task request message about the demise
  of the DTC task after the TDT task has entered "Terminated"
  state.  The inter-task request message remains unprocessed,
  causing a inter-task reply rejecting the request to be sent to
  the DIT task.  The DIT task reacts to the negative reply by
  sending message CHC9691E and issuing an ABEND U4088-A90.

  *                      a subscription is ending can leave a    *
  *                      message on a queue after the queue      *
  *                      monitor has stopped accepting new       *
  *                      messages, but before the queue has been *
  *                      dismantled.  When the queue is          *
  *                      dismantled, a reply to the message      *
  *                      stating that it will not be processed   *
  *                      is returned to the requestor.  The      *
  *                      requestor is now also gone, and so an   *
  *                      abnormal termination is issued.         *

  Due to a very infrequently occurring timing condition, an ABEND
  U4088-A90 can occur when the target side of a subscription is
  ending.
  

Problem conclusion

• A reply indicating that the request recipient is no longer
  active arriving for a requestor that is no longer active is
  suppressed without generating a dump.
