PI96254: BMS MAP NOT CORRECTLY RETURNING DATA WITH MDT ENABLED

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Reassembled a BMS Map at CICS TS 5.3 with no changes.  Now not
  seeing data returned that has the FSET enabled.  Restored the
  old map and it works fine.  The difference is the write control
  character:

  Production (old):

  5F = 0101 1111 = CTRL=(PRINT,ALARM,FREEKB,FRSET)
  .
  The map has not changed, and they are using the following
  DFHMDI in both:
  .
  BMSMAP DFHMDI SIZE=(24,80),CTRL=(PRINT,FREEKB)
  .
  Looking at DFHMDI at CICS TS 5.3 there is a change where the
  &FUNC macro field at position 10 changed from a x'4a' to a
  x'5f', which changed the default for a write control character.

Problem summary

  *                      wrong characteristics for IBM 3270      *

  BMS maps that are generated by the BMS DFHMDI and DFHMSD macros
  that specified CTRL=(PRINT,FREEKB) will result in
  CTRL=(PRINT,ALARM,FREEKB,FRSET) being generated at CICS TS for
  z/OS 5.3 and CICS TS for z/OS 5.4.
  

Problem conclusion

• The BMS macro DFHMDI and DFHMDS have be changed to generate
  the correct value specified in the CTRL operand.
