PI96006: DATABASE UTILITIES ON A MIRRORED TABLE CAN CAUSE MIRRORING TO END ABNORMALLY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In IDAA environments only with CDC z/OS PTF UI53200 applied,
  if a desynchronizing database utility is run against an
  actively mirrored table and the source has the standard IDAA
  setting ONUNTILITYACTION=IDLE, then the subscription might end
  abnormally with a dump immediately after it was idled. The
  following event log messages are generated,
  CHC0742I Table <tablename> in subscription <subname> has been
  set to status IDLE by <subname>
  CHC0330E An internal error was detected, Task(SDT),
  Module(CHCSDTPF), MaintLvl(PI79094), Line(1935), an SVC Dump
  will be requested
  

Local fix

• If the problem occurs, the subscription can be restarted. To
  avoid the issue, idle all mirrored tables that are affected by
  the database utility prior to running the utility and then
  resynchronize the tables.

  The code in PTF UI53200 that notifies the target of the table's
  state change to idle when a database utility was run did not
  properly initialize the interval variables that identify the
  table.
  

Problem conclusion

• The notification code was updated to track the idled table
  correctly.
