Error description

  • Incomplete delete when executing XMLModify() on an XML document
bigger than 16k bytes  in size with multiple delete targets.

Local fix

  • run the UPDATE statement multiple times

Problem summary

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

When using XMLModify function on an XML document larger than
16k bytes to delete multiple targets, there is a logic error
that causes some target nodes to not be deleted.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 is modified so all the delete targets are correctly deleted
after using XMLModify function.
