APAR status

Error description

  • The IBM Cloud Product Insights service is being deprecated.
    After 21 March 2018, new Product Insights service instances
    cannot be created. Existing service instances will be
    removed on the end of support date, 13 May 2018. For more
    information, see Service Deprecation: IBM Cloud Product
    Insights

    t-ibm-cloud-product-insights/).
    
    After existing service instances of IBM Cloud Product
    Insights have been removed, WebSphere Application Server
    traditional and WebSphere Application Server Liberty
    instances that have the Product Insights support enabled
    (productInsights-1.0 feature or
    was-product-insights.properties) will report the following
    error:
    
    CWWKR0402W: The server cannot be registered. Server
    registration with the IBM Cloud Product Insights service
    will be attempted again within 5 minutes. The following
    response was received from the IBM Cloud Product Insights
    service: responseCode:401 responseMessage: errorMessage:(Api
    key specified is not valid.)

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM Cloud Product Insights enablement feature for WebSphere
    Application Server (productInsights-1.0 or was-product-
    insights.properties) has been stabilized. Since all IBM Cloud
    Product Insights service instances will be removed, the
    enablement feature has been updated with this APAR to no longer
    perform any function.  The enablement feature, productInsights-
    1.0 or was-product-insights.properties, may still be installed
    and configured, but will no longer attempt to connect and report
    to IBM Clould Product Insights. No messages will be logged.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
    packs 9.0.0.8 and 8.5.5.14 for WebSphere Application Server and
    18.0.0.2 for WebSphere Application Server Liberty.  Please refer

Temporary fix

  • Remove the configurationn for the IBM Cloud Product Insights
    enablement feature (productInsights-1.0 or was-product-
    insights.properties).
