Error description

  • A user id that does not have DATAACCESS authority on the
database nor CONTROL authority on the table can still run
ANALYZE and will appear to have run successfully, as long as
the user id in question has sufficient authority to run
RUNSTATS (for example, SQLADM on the db) and has SELECT
authority on the table; however, it will not in fact succeed.
The old statistics are erased and incorrect statistics (for
example, cardinalities of zero) are created.

Local fix

  • Re-run ANALYZE as a user with either DATAACCESS on the database
or CONTROL authority on the table in question.
