PI95526: IIDR CDC FOR Z/OS CONTINUOUS OPERATION FEATURE MAY INTRODUCE AN UN-RELEASED CLAIM ON DB2 CATALOG TABLE SPACES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In order to support the Continuous Operation feature, CDC z/OS
  needs sometimes to run queries on the DB2 Catalog table spaces
  SYSTSTSP and SYSTSTPT, but a COMMIT is missing after the query
  and an un-released Claim occurs on that two table spaces. This
  would cause some side effects such as REORG on that two table
  spaces failing due to the recourse contention

  *                      queries might introduce an unreleased   *
  *                      claim on these table spaces. Any        *
  *                      attempts to run REORG on the table      *
  *                      spaces might fail because of the        *
  *                      contention.                             *

  The problem is caused by a COMMIT statement missing after the
  query.
