PI95275: IBM TOOLS BASE GENERIC LOGGER EXIT LOOP CAUSING IMS CONTROL REGION S0C4 ABEND DURING STARTUP

Error description

• IBM Tools Base Generic Logger Exit loop causing IMS Control
  Region S0C4 abend during startup. This is the forward fit of
  APAR PI94128.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IMS Tools Base v1.6.            *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Generic Exits creates internal table    *
  *                      for user exits and calls them one after *
  *                      the other on IMS call to the exit. In   *
  *                      the internal table IMS registers are    *
  *                      preserved, but the first word of the    *
  *                      save area is not set to x'80', as it    *
  *                      should.                                 *
  *                                                              *
  *                      If the exit is iWAITed and then posted  *
  *                      on termination, IMS post program        *
  *                      DFSIPOST abends with S0C4 while looping *
  *                      to find save area with x'80' in the     *
  *                      first word.                             *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  Generic Exit does not set correct IMS back save area and
  DFSIPOST abends on IMS termination

• Install this PTF to avoid IMS abend S0C4 on termination.
