Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of JSF in WebSphere Application * * Server * * versions 8.0.0.14, 8.0.0.15 and 8.5.5.13 * * as * * well as users of WebSphere Liberty * * 17.0.0.3, * * 17.0.0.4, 18.0.0.1 with jsf-2.0 enabled. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: State of composite components is not * * saved within ui:repeat elements * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When composite component input fields are used inside ui:repeat elements, updates to those fields does not work. This means that the state of composite components are not saved after form submission. In the following example, the selectBooleanCheckbox state would not be saved: myCompositeComponent.xhtml <cc:interface> <cc:attribute name="state" type="com.ibm.ws.jsf.beans.State"/> </cc:interface> <cc:implementation> <h:selectBooleanCheckbox id="checkboxId" value="# {cc.attrs.state.state}"/> <h:outputText value="State: #{cc.attrs.state.state}"/> </cc:implementation> index.xhtml <h:form id="form" prependId="false"> <ui:repeat id="uiRepeatId" value="#{modelBean.states}" var="state"> <compositeTest:myCompositeComponent id="myCompositeComponent1" state="#{state}"/> </ui:repeat> <br/> <h:commandButton id="submitButton" value="Submit"/> </h:form>
Problem conclusion
The JSF MyFaces 2.0 code was updated to allow the state of compo saved within ui:repeat elements. Fix details can be found at: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-3527 The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix Application Server 8.5.5.14 as well as WebSphere Liberty 18.0.0.2.
