Local fix

  • Add EXCLUDE (IFCID(21)) to the SYSIN GLOBAL clause to avoid
memory depletion.

*                      RC=8 and messages FPEU0020E, FPEC4002E, *
*                      FPEC0910E, indicating that a storage    *
*                      shortage occurred.                      *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

Batch LOCKING code may fail to accommodate a large burst of row
locking requests in IFCID 21. This failure may happen even when
LEVEL(DETAIL) is not requested.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was changed to keep only the most recent 20K row
locking requests in memory if LEVEL(DETAIL) is requested. If
LEVEL(DETAIL) is not requested for any LOCKING REPORT or TRACE
then LOCKING code will not accumulate row locking requests at
all. This change may result in improved performance for LOCKING
REPORTs and TRACEs that do not specify LEVEL(DETAIL).
