PI94821: IMS RESTARTING WHEN OSAM CF STRUCTURE IS BEING REBUILT FAILS TO DISCONNECT FROM THE STRUCTURE, WHICH BLOCKS THE REBUILD

Error description

• Customer uses SETXCF command to move ( rebuild ) OSAM
  structure.
  There are several DL/I Batch jobs running in datasharing mode
  and connected to the structure. The single TCB design of DL/I
  Batch and the nature of these applications prevented DFSCST00
  in the batch jobs from being dispatch to respond to REBUILD
  QUIESCE, so Rebuild is delayed.
  During this time an online IMS abends and is restarted.
  Before it failed it responded to REBUILD QUIESCE.
  At restart it issues IXLCONN to reconnect to the structure.
  This succeeds but CONAFLAGS,CONAREBUILD is returned.
  In this path the CONNECT token is not saved.
  Later IXLDISC is attempted, but gets RC08 RSN 0204080A
  since token is bad.

  ADDITIONAL STATUS INFORMATION:
   REBUILD IS IN PROGRESS
  Since IMS remains connected, but is unable to process REBUILD
  events, the REBUILD remains hung and entire datasharing group
  is impacted until this IMS is recycled.
  DFSDMAW0 needs to save the connection token in this path so
  the IXLDISC will work.

  When IMS is restarted and attempts to connect to OSAM or
  VSAM structure, and the structure is currently being rebuilt,
  the connection succeeds.  Since IMS does not support
  processing a partial sequence of rebuild events, it would
  disconnect from the structure being rebuilt.  Unfortunately,
  the connect token is not saved in this case and the
  disconnect from the structure fails. Since the connection
  remains, the structure rebuild cannot proceed without event
  response from this IMS. This IMS would not respond to the
  rebuild event because it is not aware that it is still
  connected to the structure.  The structure rebuild hangs.

  Module DFSDMAW0 has been modified to resolve the rebuild
  hang problem.  When an OSAM or VSAM  structure rebuild occurs
  at IMS structure connect time, it would save the connect token
  returned for subsequent structure disconnect from the structure
  being rebuilt.
