PI94771: EXEC CICS WEB SEND RETURNS RESP(16) RESP2(150)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Issuing an EXEC CICS WEB SEND passing a container with the
  EXPECTS option results in an INVREQ and a resp2 value of 150
  which means Conversion requested, but the data to be sent is in
  a DATATYPE BIT container.
  
  The Web send was issued passing a container which had been
  populated as DATATYPE(CHAR)
  

Local fix

• Remove EXPECTS option from the WEB SEND

  *                      with the ACTION(EXPECT) option returns  *
  *                      RESP(16) RESP2(150).                    *

  The EXEC CICS WEB SEND passing a container with the
  ACTION(EXPECT) option is issued. ACTION(EXPECT)  is an HTTP 1.1
  only function so CICS sends an OPTIONS request to the server to
  determine the HTTP version.  The server returns HTTP/1.1 404
  Not Found response. When receiving the response, DFHWBCL did
  not clear the parameter correctly,  then it puts the OPTIONS
  response into the container changing the container type to BIT.
  DFHWBCL then continues with the send processing.
  The application indicated the data should be converted, but
  the container is now of type BIT. This causes the exception
  response.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFHWBCL has been changed to handle the OPTIONS response
  correctly.
