PI94731: BATCH DISCOVERY FAILS TO RECOGNIZE SYSTEM SYMBOLS

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Problem defining IMS subsystems to IMS Recovery Expert because
  of use of the MVS system variable &SYSCLONE in IMS control
  region JCL:
    INCLUDE MEMBER=IMSCDA&SYSCLONE
  IMS RE currently does not process system variables.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: There are 2 problems fixed:             *
  *                      1. Batch discovery does not recognize   *
  *                      system symbols so if any are used in    *
  *                      JCL or procedures, batch discovery      *
  *                      fails.                                  *
  *                      2. If HSMBR= is specified but HSBID= is *
  *                      not, batch discovery mistakenly tried   *
  *                      to read and process the DFSHSBxx        *
  *                      member.                                 *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance.                       *

  There are 2 problems fixed:
  1.Batch discovery does not recognize system symbols so if any
  are used in JCL or procedures, batch discovery fails.
  2.If HSMBR= is specified but HSBID= is not, batch discovery
  mistakenly tried to read and process the DFSHSBxx  member.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code has been changed to correct these problems.
