Error description

  • Using the STAT transaction with WebSphere MQ Monitors. . Y
and pressing PF5 (Print) key two times, the STAT transaction
abendAEIU because the first startbrowse loop (exec cics inquire
mqmonitor start) is not properly terminated (exec cics inquire
mqmonitor end) in the case there are no Websphere MQ Monitor
statistics.

Local fix

  • Leave STAT transaction after first print (PF5) or deactivate
WebSphere MQ Monitors ('WebSphere MQ Monitors. . . . . . . N')

Problem summary

If a user executes the CICS STAT transaction
and requests a report to contain WebSphere MQ Monitors,
there may be no MQMONITOR resources in the CICS region.
If the user then requests a second report to contain
WebSphere MQ Monitors within the same STAT execution,
the STAT transaction abends with AbendAEIU (ILLOGIC error)
because the first browse of the MQMONITORs is not ended
before the second browse is started.

Problem conclusion

  • DFH0STDB has been modified to end the browse of MQMONITOR
resources if none are found.
