  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Using the ALT line command to alter a   *
  *                      table and append a new column may       *
  *                      result in an ADB7380E severe error      *
  *                      message and 'Program Error: DDL too     *
  *                      long'.                                  *

  When the ALT function is used to alter a table and append
  a new column, it may fail with the following error:
  
  ADB7380E Module ADB2CMP - severe error
  Compare has been stopped.
  Program error. DDL too long.
  
  This problem occurs only when the table has column access
  control defined on it.
