Error description

• When running ADMIN_COMMAND_DSN with DSN SUBCOMMAND FREE
  PACKAGE(collection-id.*) causes DB2 to issue an abend04E
  RC00D91044
  

Local fix

• CALL ADMIN_COMMAND_DSN with FREE PACKAGE(collection-id.*.(*))
  instead of FREE PACKAGE(collection-id.*).
  

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
  * SYSPROC.ADMIN_COMMAND_DSN may cause                          *
  * Db2 to abend with SYSTEM COMPLETION                          *
  * CODE=04E REASON CODE=00D91044, and                           *
  * as a result, the stored procedure                            *
  * returns message DSNA642I DSNADMCS                            *
  * CALL TO REBIND INTERFACE FAILED,                             *
  * ATTCHMVS RC=-78 when it processes a                          *
  * FREE PACKAGE(collection-id.*) or                             *
  * REBIND PACKAGE(collection-id.*) DSN                          *
  * subcommand.                                                  *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  If the version-id is omitted in any of these DSN subcommands:
  o FREE PACKAGE(collection-id.package-id)
  o REBIND PACKAGE(collection-id.package-id)
  where package-id is an asterisk (*), ADMIN_COMMAND_DSN sets
  the default version-id to an empty string, instead of an
  asterisk (*).
  
  Since the default version-id is set incorrectly, when
  when ADMIN_COMMAND_DSN expands the specified package-id '*',
  the expanded list of packages may not be correct.
  
  As a result, ADMIN_COMMAND_DSN may send these DSN subcommands
  as is to Db2, instead of expanding the specified package-id
  '*' and sending one FREE PACKAGE or REBIND PACKAGE for each
  package in the specified collection-id.
  
  If the specified collection-id.* identifies more than one
  package, Db2 abends with SYSTEM COMPLETION CODE=04E REASON
  CODE=00D91044 and ADMIN_COMMAND_DSN returns with the message
  DSNA642I DSNADMCS CALL TO REBIND INTERFACE FAILED, ATTCHMVS
  RC=-78.
  

Problem conclusion

• ADMIN_COMMAND_DSN is modified to set the default version-id
  correctly when processing these DSN subcommands:
  o FREE PACKAGE(collection-id.package-id)
  o REBIND PACKAGE(collection-id.package-id)
  where the version-id is omitted.
