Error description

  • If a child object is locked, the user is able to associate this
locked object to a locked/unlocked parent.
The opposite is not true, where an associated locked object
cannot be disassociated without first unlocking the object.

The above behavior is confusing and inconsistent. The
documentation does not state what the proper behavior should be.

    Workaround:
    None

    Prerequisites:

    OpenPages installed

    Configure lock settings
    1.	Log into the OpenPages UI as OpenPagesAdministrator
    2.	Navigate to Administration -> Settings
    3.	Expand Applications | GRCM | Locks and click on "Display Lock
    Button"
    4.	Append AuditableEntity and AuditProgram to the list of
objects that can be locked, then click Save

    Create test data
    1.	On the top right, click on Add New and select Business Entity
    2.	Enter Ent1 as the name, fill in all required fields, then
    click Save
    3.	On the top right, click on Add New and select Auditable
    Entity
    4.	Select Ent1 as the parent, enter AudEnt1 as the name, fill in
all required fields, then click Save
    5.	On the top right, click on Add New and select Auditable
    Entity
    6.	Select Ent1 as the parent, enter AudEnt2 as the name, fill in
all required fields, then click Save
    7.	On the top right, click on Add New and select Audit
    8.	Select AudEnt1 as the parent, enter Audit1 as the name, fill
in all required fields, then click Save
    9.	Navigate to Audit Management -> Audits
    10.	Enter audit1 in the quick filter and press enter
    11.	Click on the audit1 entry to highlight it and click on the
Lock icon to lock this record

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1.	Log into the OpenPages UI as OpenPagesAdministrator
    2.	Navigate to Audit Management -> Auditable Entities
    3.	Enter audent2 into the quick filter and press enter
    4.	Click into AudEnt2 to navigate to the detail page
    5.	Under Associations, click on Audits
    6.	Click on Actions -> Associate Existing Audits
    7.	Search for Audit1 and confirm it is locked, then select it
    and click Associate
    8.	Confirm the above succeeds, even though the object is locked.
    9.	Now for Audit1, click on Actions and note that "Disassociate
    this Audit" is greyed out.

    Expected Results:

Users expect a locked object should not be able to be associated
to a parent. Just like a locked child object cannot be
disassociated, a locked object should also not be allowed to be
    associated.

    Actual Results:

A locked object can be associated to a parent, but cannot be
disassociated, which is inconsistent and confusing.

    Error Message:

    None
