PI93067: CORRECTION TO SCCVSAMP SAMPLE CCVXWORK TO TO REDUCE THE MAXIMUM RECORD SIZE TO 32000.

Error description

• The CCM format export file record size is based on the file
  attributes of the CCVEXP work file.  To reduce the maximum
  record size to 32000, the SCCVSAMP sample CCVXWORK should be
  modified to set the CCVEXP CLUSTER attributes as follows (where
  RECSZ has been changed):

Local fix

• To implement the desired file attribute changes and limit the
  record size to 32000:
  
  1. Complete any inflight processing of pre-existing CCM-format
  export files.
  
  2. Either shut down the CICS Configuration Manager Server
  region, or discard the CCVEXP file in the Server region.
  
  3. Delete/define the CCVEXP work file according to the SCCVSAMP
  sample CCVXWORK, having adjusted the RECSZ parameter as RECSZ(88
  32000).
  
  4. Either restart the CICS Configuration Manager Server region,
  or install the CCVEXP file in the Server region.
  
  5. Resume export file processing.  Inspect the CCM-format export
  file attributes.  This should be a VB file with record length
  31996 and block size 32000.

  CICS Configuration Manager v5.4 increased the maximum record
  size of CCVEXP work file from 1508 to 32760, thereby increasing
  the CCM-format export file maximum record size to 32760.
  However, the customer had a site limitation of a maximum record
  size of 32000.
  

Problem conclusion

• The CICS Configuration Manager is adjusted.  SCCVSAMP sample
  CCVXWORK now reduces the maximum record size for the CCVEXP work
  file to 32000. Additional notes are added, advising customers to
  review the maximum record size permissible for CCM-format export
  files in keeping with site limitations.
  
  CICS CM has also been changed to improve detection and
  handling of length errors when the export-import file
  was physically allocated for a record size less than that
  defined for the CCVEXP work file.
