Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    * Server Liberty using asynchronous servlet. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A thread context class loader is null *
    * during an asynchronous dispatching. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When an application calls
    Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader() from a dispatched
    runnable resource during an asynchronous operation, it returns
    null. The thread context classloader should be inherited from
    the dispatcher.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebContainer code was modified to set the thread context
    class loader of the dispatched runnable resource to its
    dispatcher's context class loader.
