Error description
Firefox and Chrome has removed support for Java applets since Firefox 52.0 and Chrome 45. Oracle has also decided to deprecate the Java plugin with Java 9. Without Java support in browsers, administrators will not be abl to use the administration web console. Thus, it has been decided to deprecate the admin console. Administrators will still be abl to access the server status pages, but all server configuration must be done via directly modifying Caching Proxy's configuratio file.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM Caching Proxy Administrative * * Web Console * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Most major browsers have deprecated * * Java applet support which is required * * for the administrative console to * * work. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Firefox and Chrome has removed support for Java applets since Firefox 52.0 and Chrome 45. Oracle has also decided to deprecate the Java plugin with Java 9. Without Java support in browsers, administrators will not be abl to use the administration web console. Thus, it has been decided to deprecate the admin console. Administrators will still be able to access the server status pages, but all server configuration must be done via directly modifying Caching Proxy's configuration file.
Problem conclusion
The administrative console in Caching Proxy will now load a static web page that can be used to view server status pages if the user's browser does not support Java applets. Modifying the configuration through the administrative console, however, is no longer supported. Instead, server administrators should modify the config file for IBM Caching Proxy directly.
