APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The Admin Tool parser currently rejects parentheses and equal
  signs in a TEMPLATE statement.  This accords with the syntax
  diagrams in DB2 documentation.   However, DB2 in fact tolerates
  parentheses and equal signs, and the Administration Tool/Object
  Compare parser should do so as well.
  
  Example: Both below syntax is tolerated by DB2, even though
  syntax diagram does not mention paren or equal.

  including parentheses or equal signs, supported in
  DB2 V12, may end with the following error messages:
  
    ADB0006E ADBCCM - ERROR(S) FOUND. PLEASE
    REVIEW OUTPUT
    ADB2PA RETURNING RC=16
  
  The following are examples of the TEMPLATE options
  that may cause this error:
  
    GDGLIMIT(255) (GDGLIMIT 255, as per syntax diagram)
    VOLCNT(100) (VOLCNT 100, as per syntax diagram)
    UNIT(CST) or UNIT=CST (UNIT CST, as per syntax diagram)
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem is resolved. The above-mentioned TEMPLATE
  options are supported, and job output indicates a parser
  error more clearly when appropriate.
  
  This corrects a packaging problem with the previous
  PTF.
